24 murdered in firecrackers blasts in Mexico, save laborers among dead

No less than 24 individuals were slaughtered in a progression of blasts at firecrackers stockrooms in the town of Tultepec in focal Mexico, including salvage specialists who passed on sparing others’ lives, authorities said.

The underlying blast happened around 9:30 am, at that point spread to different stockrooms similarly as police and firefighters started taking care of the principal casualties. Tultepec, a town of 65,000 individuals only north of Mexico City, is known for its distinctive firecrackers — and a background marked by dangerous mishaps.

“We profoundly lament the passings of the individuals who were executed early today in… Tultepec, including our firefighter and police partners who lost their lives sparing those of numerous others,” read a tweet from the Red Cross in the province of Mexico, where Tultepec is found.

No less than 24 individuals were murdered — including a minor — and 49 injured, authorities said. The casualties included four firefighters and five police.

Many troopers, police and firefighters conveyed to the area of Xahuento, on the edges of the town, cordoned off a wide territory around the seething workshops where the blasts happened.

An anguished young person was approaching salvage specialists for news about his dad, a firecrackers producer who worked in the territory. “I cleared out school to search for him when we found out about the blast. In any case, they won’t let me through and no one is giving me any data,” said Allan Osvaldo, 14.

Hours after the fact, his dad returned, seriously shaken however protected. “I was in my workshop when I heard the blast. I ran out and was instantly wrapped in the billow of smoke,” said the dad, 43-year-old Osvaldo Urban, his voice trembling. “I’m so appreciative to be OK.”
